WEST CHESTER, PA – Tim Clowney, Director of Operations at Green pest control solutions received a Patriot Award from Support from the guard and reserve employer (ESGR).

The Patriot Award is presented to those who demonstrate support above and beyond employees serving in the National Guard or Army Reserve. Jose Velez, a technician at Green Pest Solutions and a member of the National Guard, felt his manager, Clowney, had met those standards when he submitted Clowney’s nomination to ESGR for the Patriot Award.

“Tim is really everything I could hope for from a supervisor. He was incredibly flexible with my schedule so that I could fulfill my duties with the Army Reserve and maintain a good work / home balance, ”said Velez.

Twenty-four members of the Green Pest Solutions team watched Clowney receive this award from an ESGR member. Clowney, as is his nature, turned the attention away from himself and towards the army.

“We all owe a tremendous amount of respect and gratitude to all the hardworking members of our military,” he said upon receiving the award. “Supporting them in the workplace is the least I can do as an American. Current and former members of the military are some of the best employees we have at Green Pest Solutions. Providing valued team members like Jose with everything they need to be successful in their careers here at Green Pest Solutions, and in their service to our country, is the most rewarding part of my job.

ESGR is a Department of Defense program that promotes cooperation and understanding between service members of the Reserve Component and their civilian employers and assists in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military engagement. They sent one of their volunteers, Jeff Hill, to present the award to Clowney. Hill was a former member of the Army Reserve who toured Kuwait and Iraq. He also shared some of his war stories at a company lunch after the ceremony.

Green Pest Solutions and its parent company, Green Lawn Fertilization, have pledged to support the army. The company donated trucks to Cars for US Troops. She is also actively involved in Project EverGreen GreenCare for Troops Program, which provides free lawn and landscaping services to families of currently deployed military personnel and disabled post-9/11 veterans with service-related disabilities. The company donated to the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and was actively involved in Renewal and remembrance to Arlington National Cemetery, sending over 10 team members over the past 10 years.

Matt Jesson, president of Green Pest Solutions and Green Lawn Fertilizing, spoke about this commitment to the military at the awards ceremony.

“I am extremely proud of Tim, Jose and the whole company for their support of the military,” Jesson said. “Green Lawn Fertilizing and Green Pest Solutions are committed to supporting our serving military and veterans, whether through the volunteer events we have hosted such as Renewal and Remembrance, donations or through our employee hiring practices. “

Green Lawn Fertilizing / Green Pest Solutions currently has 10 employees with active or former military ties, and given the quality of their work, the company will continue to look to hire more.
